Delicate champagne-gold iridescence appears sparingly, although both sides present as virtually brilliant at most viewing angles. The luster is full and satiny, the strike exceptionally well executed throughout the design. As with all issues in the circulation strike Franklin half dollar series, the 1962 (9,714,000 coins produced) is readily obtainable in circulated and lower Mint State grades. Premium Gems such as this are rare, however, especially with the combination of full striking detail and virtually brilliant surfaces that the present example offers. Among the finest certified at PCGS in the FBL category, in fact, and eagerly awaiting inclusion in an advanced Franklin half dollar collection on the Set Registry.<p><p><p>
