- Exceedingly rare Gem Uncirculated quality for this conditionally challenged San Francisco Mint half eagle issue, this is actually the finest certified 1910-S that we have handled in recent decades. Fully lustrous with a softly frosted texture, both sides display lovely mint color in vivid golden-wheat. Remarkably smooth for the assigned grade, an impressively sharp strike overall adds to this coin's appeal.<p>A rare coin in all Mint State grades, the 1910-S ranks sixth of 24 Indian half eagle issues in terms of total number of Uncirculated coins believed extant. It is particularly elusive in grades above MS-64, at which levels the 1910-S is just as challenging to collect as the 1909-S. This is a landmark offering for the issue, and a coin that would serve as a highlight of any Indian half eagle or 20th century gold set in which it is included.
