1839 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-2. Head of 1838. Rarity-2. MS-64 BN (PCGS). Pleasing olive-brown hues dominate the complexion of this lovely Choice example, highlighted by significant pinkish luster surrounding the devices on each side. Overall smooth and glossy, with a soft and satiny texture flooding the fields. Flowlines are well developed near the borders and the reverse die scratches are well obscured, demonstrating Noyes Die State C/C. A shallow mark on Liberty's cheek is the only notable imperfection throughout. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection.
