Lot Description

As noted frequently in our catalogs, the Large Diameter Capped Bust quarter of 1815 to 1828 is challenging to collect in all grades. Few examples were produced, and attrition was high through commercial use and melting. Among lightly circulated survivors that we have offered in recent years, this light golden-gray example presents better than most and would make a pleasing addition to a type set. The fields retain appreciable semi-reflective tendencies that flash into view as the coin dips into a light.
