Lot Description

A thickly frosted, satiny lustrous JR-7. A moderately scarce variety, rated as R-4. The surfaces have a very pleasing, pearly silver sheen with hints of golden iridescence. Bluntly struck up in areas, this one was struck from a later die state with a dramatic die crack on the obverse. A lovely example worthy of a great type or date set. PCGS 26, NGC 29, CAC 8. The last PCGS/CAC example to sell in auction sold in May 2012 for $2,530. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $4,380. VERY SCARCE finer, there are 18 graded higher at PCGS.
