1834 Classic Half Cent. C-1, B-1. Rarity-6 (as a proof). Proof-64 BN (PCGS). OGH. The only die pairing of the year. Deep golden tan with satiny mint orange in the protected areas; we note an area of deeper toning on Miss Liberty's cheek and a small toning fleck at C in AMERICA. Proof half cents of <em>any </em>date are a delicacy, with no single date considered common by any stretch of the imagination. Certainly proofs of the present date are rare with perhaps some 15 to 30 known all told. A rare opportunity to obtain a Classic Head half cent in the proof format.
