Lot Description

Overton-103 has AM joined in AMERICA on the reverse, while on the obverse, the second 8 rests well right of the curl above. This example displays an intriguing die-state, as it lacks the die-crack (almost) always seen above ITED ST, yet there IS a die-crack seen connecting S OF AM. Hmmm. Strange. Both sides display considerable flowline texture, which helps affirm the basic "about uncirculated" grade level. Iron-grey patina drapes most of both sides, surrounded by hints of paper toning, highly typical of examples stored for decades within Kraft envelopes (scotia).
