Lot Description

1859-O Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. MS-63 (NGC). Frosty luster with a virtually full strike, a few small, wispy abrasions are insignificant for a Select Mint State silver dollar of the No Motto Liberty Seated type. Brilliant. Perhaps one of the early 1960s Treasury-released 1859-O silver dollars, found there in bag quantity along with a similar quantity of the 1860-O issue. Until that time both dates had been rarities in Mint State, but the fortuitous Treasury release made it possible for many collectors to finally own a Mint State Type I Liberty Seated dollar.
