1852 Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-63+ (PCGS). Lovely satin surfaces feature warm, vivid rose-gold patina. Both sides exhibit superior striking quality and preservation for an 1850s half eagle, attributes that are sure to appeal to discerning gold enthusiasts. Despite its status as one of the more available 1850s half eagles in Mint State, the 1852 is rare at this level of preservation. Provenance: From Lester Merkin's sale of June 1968, lot 461.
