- "1804" Draped Bust Cent. Private Restrike. MS-66 BN (PCGS). Handsome copper-brown patina with blushes of original rose-orange luster still peering from the protected areas around the devices. There are no post-production detractions, as one should demand at the upper reaches of Gem quality. This well-known "restrike" was made unofficially circa 1860 from an altered 1803-dated obverse die with the reverse die of the 1818 Matron Head Cent. The obverse die was severely cracked and rusted at the time it was pressed back into service with the altered 1804 date. The present example is one of the nicest survivors that we have ever had the privilege to offer.
