- Lot Description
- 40 in PF-65 and 49 higher at NGC. This proof 1869 thee-cent piece has what every collector dreams about: genuine rarity with a mintage of only 600 coins and amazing eye appeal. The obverse is wonderfully target-toned with reddish purple at the rims that transitions to deep blue at the center of the coin. The reverse does not disappoint either with splashes of deep blue across the mark-free surfaces. Graded PF-65 by NGC, only 49 are graded higher and even fewer can match the eye appeal of this example. Expect strong bidding for this gorgeous type coin (ls).
