Lot Description

A bright and flashy example with golden-orange coloration and considerable satiny luster. Scattered marks are visible under a glass but none of these are overall distracting during in-hand viewing, and the eye appeal is strong for the assigned grade. Well struck and particularly smooth across the reverse. The 1884-CC boasts a generous Mint State population by Carson City Mint double eagle standards, and MS-60 and MS-61 coins such as this enjoy particularly strong demand among mintmarked gold type collectors as well as series specialists.
