Condition Census 1826 N-6 MS-64 BN (PCGS) CAC The Wright Plate Coin 1826 Matron Head Cent. N-6. Rarity-2. MS-64 BN (PCGS). CAC. Uniform, silky luster greets the viewer across this premium near-Gem. The strike is nicely centered on each side, showing the usual softness at the upper stars but remaining otherwise sharp. The eye appeal is strong, enhanced by the medley of burnt-orange and cocoa hues that paint the complexion. A very shallow abrasion grazes the field near star 7 and an ancient pinscratch traces the left below the F in OF. The dies are heavily rusted in this state and feature a crack from the bust tip as seen in Noyes Die State B/B. Remarkably well produced and selected by John Wright to represent the Newcomb-6 variety in his 1992 reference The Cent Book. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection.
