Lot Description

1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 17-K, W-4865. Rarity-3. Narrow Shield, Straight Plow Beam. VF-30 (PCGS). Glossy autumn-brown surfaces with glints of olive-copper scattered about. The strike is well centered on both sides, all major design elements bold and some sharper detail remaining to the horse and shield. A dull mark to the left of the date and a few others in the upper reverse field are mentioned for accuracy, but overall this piece is pleasingly smooth in hand for the assigned grade.
