Lot Description

1894 Barber Dime. MS-66 (PCGS). This handsome Gem exhibits intermingled rose and powder blue highlights on otherwise dominant steely-charcoal patina on the obverse. The reverse retains areas of brilliance interrupted by blushes of vivid rose-russet iridescence. Highly lustrous with strong cartwheel visual effects, razor sharp striking detail and silky smooth surfaces. In grades of MS-65 and finer, the 1894 is the sixth rarest of 25 Philadelphia Mint Barber dimes. Provenance: From our sale of the Frog Run Farm Collection, November 2017 Baltimore Auction, lot 1338.
