Lot Description

1872-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-101. Fine-15 (PCGS). A scarce-to-rare issue in all grades, the heavily circulated 1872-CC Half has an original mintage of just 257,000 pieces. The coin we offer here is mostly untoned, although a few swirls of russet iridescence are evident on the reverse. Suitably bold detail defines the major design elements, and a general lack of individually distracting abrasions is also a pleasing attribute for an early CC-mint silver coin that saw considerable circulation. A small nick in the upper-left reverse field is noted.
