Lot Description

Attractive mint luster graces both sides of this satiny example. The strike is impressively sharp for a San Francisco Mint Peace dollar, and the in hand appearance is pleasingly smooth. Otherwise brilliant, wisps of pale champagne-apricot iridescence enhance the obverse periphery. A desirable key date issue, the 1934-S is the rarest silver dollar of this design type in terms of total number of Mint State coins known.
