Among the very FINEST of this Top 100 VAM. Bold and brilliant luster swirls around this impressive GEM. Remnants of the underlying 7 peeks above the top left portion of the second 8 in 1880 giving the nickname "ear." Nicely struck for the date with good frosty luster that blooms all over. A tiny tick or two are all that keep this coin from an MS65 grade. PCGS has graded just 4 of this VAM variety in MS64+ and the only one to sell realized $5,040 in June 2018. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $4,250 and keep in mind it is listed at $16,000 in MS65! Bid accordingly! Cert. Number 34985883 PCGS # 041289
