- Lot Description
- Breen Die State III. Hard and frosty surfaces also show plenty of good gloss. Both sides are originally and evenly toned in pleasing medium chocolate-brown. There is neither roughness nor verdigris, although the reverse is peppered with numerous tiny marks, obverse with fewer of these but a lengthier scratch from the upper left border into the top of Liberty's hair above the ribbon. The detail is universally bold in the presence of moderate, yet even wear, and the overdate is clear with readily evident underdigits. This is an attractive circulated Draped Bust cent and a Condition Census survivor from the Sheldon-195 dies. Del Bland grades it EAC VF25 and ranks it as tied for CC#4, while Noyes assigns an EAC grade of VF30, net VF25, and a ranking of tied for CC#5 in his census.
