Lot Description

1893-S Barber Quarter. MS-65 (PCGS). A warmly toned obverse gives way to a lighter, silver and pale olive reverse. Both sides are equally full in strike with intense satin luster. From a relatively limited mintage of 1,454,535 pieces, survivors of which are scarce to rare in all grades. As a solidly graded Gem the present example is decidedly in the latter category and is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in another impressive Barber quarter set. PCGS# 5606. NGC ID: 23XY.
