1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-6a. Rarity-2. Manley Die State 2.0. Plain Edge, No Pole--Overstruck on a Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent--EF-45 (... Deep chocolate-brown with golden undertones. Evenly struck with boldly presented design elements throughout. No marks of any measure are seen with the naked eye, and a loupe fails to generate a mark worthy of discussion. Struck on a cut-down Talbot, Allum & Lee cent of 1794 or 1795, though only the obverse reveals any details of the host coin. YORK from the host coin appears boldly in the obverse field at Liberty's profile, with portions of ship rigging at the date and behind Liberty's cap. An excellent early half cent with the added attraction of the Talbot, Allum & Lee host coin and its prominent presence. Choice and appealing, and certain to garner strong bidding activity.
