The second FINEST graded at PCGS, the with Drapery variety of 1840 half dimes are much more challenging than the No Drapery sibling. This is a remarkable GEM with incredible, totally original toning and brilliant underlying satiny luster. Sharply struck devices stand out against the smooth, problem free surfaces. The eye appeal is excellent, we have looked this GEM up and down with a strong glass and are unable to see why CAC did not bean this beautiful early Seated half dime. PCGS 2, NGC 3. Only a single example has ever sold in auction, over a decade ago for nearly $10,000. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $10,000.
