Lot Description

B-5, BB-27. This is the most common Flowing Hair dollar variety, and is perfect for type purposes. Easily identified by the small "bar" just off the top strand of hair behind Liberty's head. This coin shows honest wear with no signs of harsh treatment over the course of its existence. Lovely dove-gray color deepens to a deeper tone near the rims. Off the market for ages, our consignor's father stored this collector grade 1795 dollar in an ancient Wayte Raymond board until it was consigned to LRCA for grading and sale. PCGS 184, NGC 65. Two sold in the 2019 FUN Auction, one for $4,560 and the other for $4,080. This pleasing example is great for any budget minded collector looking for a nice VF for type or date purposes. Cert.
