Lot 525 1856 C-1 R2. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. CAC.Lustrous light olive and bluish steel brown with mellowed mint red showing on 15-20% of both sides. No spots or stains. The only notable marks are two very light vertical nicks on the chin and a tiny tick at the dentil roots left of star 2. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a very fine horizontal die line from the leaf under ES. A shallow low spot caused by grease on the die shows over ALF (as struck). Our grade is MS63, slightly higher than the PCGS assessment that seems a bit low based on their standards. The attribution and Widok Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
