Lot Description

1786 Vermont Copper. RR-9, Bressett 7-F, W-2040. Rarity-4. Baby Head. Fine-12. 104.94 grains. Deep golden-brown with finer surfaces than typically seen for this perennially favorite Red Book type. Obverse planchet flaws, as struck, at rim at 2, 3, and 6 o'clock, another on the effigy's neck and a small flaw in its hair, VERMON weak, reverse aligned 270 degrees, rim pinch at 10 o'clock, date on planchet, ET L weak, no serious marks presented to the unassisted eye. This baby Head Vermont copper would do justice to any collection currently being formed. PCGS# 548. Provenance: Paper envelope with attribution notes included.
