Lot Description
1801 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-212, B-2. Rarity-3. AU-50 (NGC). Pale yellow-gold toning over light gray surfaces, with considerable luster prominent on the reverse. A problem-free example at the AU level, with overall smooth surfaces and no mentionable imperfections. BB-212 vies with BB-211 as the most readily obtainable die marriage of the 1801 silver dollar, and it is a popular type candidate for collectors seeking a single example of the Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle design. The variety is conditionally challenging, however, and AU survivors such as this are scarce and always in demand among specialists. Provenance: Ex our sale of February 2008, lot 2588. PCGS# 6893. NGC ID: 24XA. Click here for certification details from NGC.
