1850-D Gold Dollar. Winter 2-C, the only known dies. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. If the Mint State example in the preceding lot is beyond one's reach, this premium Choice AU is an attractive alternative for the normally elusive 1850-D gold dollar. It is a handsome coin with blended reddish-rose highlights to dominant deep honey-gold color. Generally not a well struck issue, the detail here is soft both in isolated central and peripheral areas, although overall definition is bold enough to be pleasing in hand.
