Lot Description

Excellent collector quality for this key date entry in the Standing Liberty quarter series, the premier issue of the design type, and one with a limited mintage of 52,000 pieces. Golden-gray surfaces are lightly toned with wisps of warmer russet tinting here and there at the borders. Boldly defined overall with all major design elements sharp, each digit in the date complete and easily discerned. Choice EF is a significant grade for the 1916, especially with CAC approval, and this handsome piece would even fit nicely into a Standing Liberty quarter set comprised largely of Mint State coins.
