1812 Classic Cent. S-289. Rarity-1. AU-50 (PCGS). Rare in such high grade as most of these circulated down to much lower grade ranges, and finding an example with full hair definition and bold leaves on the wreath is a delight for collectors. Examination with a loupe will find a couple of shallow nicks and a minor scuff on the base of the 8, mentioned for identification purposes. Medium brown throughout, and free of toning spots or environmental issues that often plague these important Classic Head cents.
