Our fist offering for this rare 20th century Proof gold issue in a decade. This attractive golden-orange Superb Gem displays the delightful Sandblast finish that is characteristic of the issue. Expertly produced and carefully preserved, this specimen will have no difficulty eliciting strong bids from discerning gold collectors.<p>Only 71 Proof 1913 eagles were struck using a fine Sandblast finish, as employed in 1912. The extant population is on the order of 50 to 60 coins (per John W. Dannreuther, 2018) and, as above, this is the first to appear in one of our auctions since 2015. It is also in a higher certified grade than any other specimen in our online archives.
