Lot Description

1807 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-1, the only known dies. Rarity-1. Manley Die State 3.0. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. Pleasing steel-brown with residual luster in the fields. The strike is firm on Liberty's bust, hair and the wreath, with the usual minor softness on the peripheral legends as these dies were lapped and used well beyond their normal service life. Free of all but minute signs of contact, and identifiable by a couple of shallow nicks, one facing on the rim before Liberty's neck. Scarce and desirable with so much eye appeal and technically high grade.
