Lot Description

O-108, the popular "pincer" 8s variety, so named for the broken tops of the 8s, making them look like pincers. Here is a coin that is one just below the condition census. Deeply toned with rich amber-gold toning in the centers with bold, cobalt blue and teal at the peripheries. The colors are brought to vivid life by essentially full, frosty mint bloom. There are no serious marks mint made or otherwise that detract from the tremendous eye appeal. PCGS 87, NGC 118. This was the most recent 1818 PCGS AU58 to sell in auction. It sold for a very strong $2,820 in the 2017 ANA auction. That realization is basically MS62 money, and this coin brought such a strong premium bid for its wonderful eye appeal!
