- Lot Description
- A very scarce R-7- Standard Silver pattern quarter, struck in copper with a reeded edge. This version shows Barber's Liberty facing right wearing a plain diadem and a headband inscribed LIBERTY. This is the ex Queller NGC PR66 BN that was described in January 2009 as: "Lovely highlights of pale aquamarine and rose generously cover both obverse and reverse. Well struck and thoroughly attractive." PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This coin is still reported on the NGC Census as a PR66 BN. Clearly it is among the finest extant, and is the ONLY one in BN that is approved by CAC. The nearly decade old record is useless, and Collector's Universe estimates a value of $5,500. A very neat pattern issue that combines great eye appeal, rarity, and an affordable price point! Cert. Number 12927946 PCGS # 61140
