- 1923-S Mercury Dime. MS-66 (NGC). OH.
Richly original surfaces are splashed with mottled golden-orange and reddish-russet patina that is boldest around the reverse periphery. Highly lustrous and fully frosted throughout, the strike is impressively sharp overall and comes up a bit short only in the center of the reverse. The 1923-S is scarce even in VF and EF, and it is rare in the finest Mint State grades, as here.
Provenance: From the Larry H. Miller Collection.
