1788 Massachusetts Half Cent. W-6010, Ryder 1-B. URS-11. EF-40 (PCGS). OGH. An attractive EF with full originality, we note dominant reddish-brown patina to both sides. There are no abrasions, carbon flecks or other significant post-production detractions--an uncommon attribute for an early Federal-era copper that saw light circulation. We do see streaks of deeper color on both sides, however, although these seem to be largely associated with a few minor, as-struck planchet flaws. Well struck with overall bold definition, this coin comes highly recommended for inclusion in a circulated type set.
