Lot Description

1898-O Barber Half Dollar. AU-58 (PCGS). This New Orleans Mint Barber half dollar is from a somewhat lower mintage of 874,000 coins and is a conditionally scarce issue in grades beyond EF. This dove-gray piece displays typical satin luster and shows somewhat soft definition on some of the design's motifs, including the eagle's talons, tail feathers, and arrow fletchings. An overall pleasing near-Mint State specimen of this challenging issue.
