- 1917 Buffalo Nickel. MS-67 (PCGS).
Rich autumn-orange patina is boldest toward the peripheries. Direct lighting calls forth abundant satin luster, as well as subtle powder blue and pinkish-rose highlights around the obverse border. Sharply struck overall and expertly preserved in all regards, this lovely coin is remarkably well preserved and attractive in a survivor of this otherwise plentiful issue, one with a generous mintage of 51,424,019 coins struck. Few examples in numismatic hands are as nice as that offered here.
Provenance: From the Silver Springs Collection.
PCGS Population: 23; 11 finer (MS-68 finest).
PCGS# 3934. NGC ID: 22RD.
