Losbeschreibung
1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.7-r.2, W-3440. Rarity-1. Draped Bust Left. VG-8 Environmental Damage. 155.5 grains. Golden-tan surfaces uniformly microgranular throughout. Nicely centered on both sides, curved planchet cutter mark through both sides underscores the legend at the right on both sides, tiny ticks present but free of any singularly distracting marks. In the late 1980s, the present writer (FVV) purchased three nice mid-grade 1787 Connecticut coppers from Garry Fitzgerald at a Long Beach coin show. When taken home to Wolfeboro, NH and attributed, all three turned out to be Miller.33.7-r.2 -- this die pair became the first "eye-ball" attribution in the Connecticut copper series learned by the writer .
