Losbeschreibung
1923-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar. MS-62 (NGC). Satiny rose-gold toning spans the lustrous surfaces and the fields and devices are rather clean for this issue. Mintages during this span of time became attenuated, disappearing altogether for several years of the Walking Liberty half series as demand slipped and production took a back seat once again to the legislated desire instead coin the new Peace dollars. More than any other mint in the 1920s, San Francisco made half dollars for circulation while other mints focused on other denominations. Integral to the current coin is a heavy die line extending into the field below Liberty's outstretched hand.
