1896-S Liberty Half Eagle. MS-64 (PCGS). Scarce as a date in general with a modest mintage of 155,400 pieces. At this stellar grade level, this condition rarity shines with desirability. A mere 5 examples have been reported by PCGS at this level, and most importantly just a single coin is noted finer. Glittering mint surfaces and luster, with pleasing orange-gold hues throughout. One minor speck in the date is mentioned for identification.
