1877-CC Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-50 (NGC). The elusive 1877-CC half eagle, with a mintage of just 8,680 pieces, would be considered underrated in high grades by some; fewer than 100 pieces are estimated to survive in all grades and the majority fare no better than VF. The attractive AU example offered here is reasonably well-struck over the central details.
