Lot Description

A lovely, collector grade Dahlonega half eagle. Orange and olive tinged patina on both surfaces. There are some tiny ticks from a long time in antebellum commerce, but none are detracting. For the assigned grade, the eye appeal is great. PCGS 7, NGC 4, CAC 2. The only VF25 to sell was an NGC/CAC coin that sold in a May 2020 internet auction for $2,000. The Current CAC CPG value is $2,500 and the Collectors Universe value is $2,000. A great collector coin--highly desirable as a CAC approved example. Cert. Number 41056075 PCGS # 8255.00
