1869 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-742, Pollock-823. Rarity-5. Silver. Reeded Edge. Proof-62 (NGC). Head of Liberty right in Phrygian cap adorned with stars, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around, IN GOD WE TRUST on ribbon below, reverse with STANDARD SILVER around a wreath, date below, 50 / CENTS within. Brilliant silver white surfaces reveal far fewer hairlines or other signs of handling in light of the assigned grade. The outward appearance is fairly smooth at most angles, in fact, and modest field to device contrast further enhances the coin's appeal. A shallow, faint planchet streak over the left central reverse is noted.
