Lot Description
THE MERIDIAN COLLECTION OF PROOF BARBER DIMES Another fabulous friend from our sale of the R.S.D. Collection, where we described it as: "A beautifully toned SUPERB GEM CAMEO Barber dime Proof! This coin has long been in the #1 Proof Barber dime sets on the PCGS Registry, starting with Law, Simpson, Laxdive, and RSD. The rich, multihued patination is brought to life when the light reflects off the ultra-reflective, watery mirrors. The strike is very sharp and the devices are frosted, contrasting with the beaming mirrored fields. The surfaces are totally without flaw and the mirrors really bring the blue, gold, and olive tone to life on the obverse and the reverse is virtually untoned. The eye appeal is very nice and high end for sure!" Only 700 proofs were minted. PCGS 5, NGC 3, CAC 5. The most recent example sold in June 2021 for $5,760 and prior to that, one sold in November 2020 for $10,800. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $8,500. There are NONE graded finer than PR67+ CAM which replaced this SUPERB GEM in the RSD set. An important opportunity for any Proof Barber dime collector! Cert. Number 35812788 PCGS # 84896
