Lot Description

Head of 1835. The obverse die appears in the Redbook as "Script 8", but can most easily be identified by noticing a strong die crack descending from the 6th star down to the forehead. Despite ten points of wear, the details seem to be struck slightly above the average for the Classic Head type since the shield displays almost complete horizontal lines, and the talons display completely separated segmentation. A slightly glossy example with vestiges of frosty texture.
