We love this Proof $5 die trial in copper, struck from the regular 1867 Proof dies. Struck in copper with a reeded edge, this is a high Rarity-7+ with just 4-7 examples known. Strong mirrors beam from all over. The mirrors are extremely clean. If you twirl the coin the mirrors look like thick glass. Both sides are loaded with killer original colors of brown/green/gold/pale violet/blue. Mother Nature did a special job here. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and boldly stand out. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This SUPERB GEM brought $16,800 in the Simpson in January 2021, and $17625 in our July 2022 Regency Auction.
