Lot Description
Tompkins Die Stage 2/1, Rea et al. Die State P. This is the Small Arrowheads Browning number of the 1832 quarter, the reverse die previously used in the 1831 B-7 pairing, but not otherwise employed. Warmly patinated pewter gray surfaces with blushes of bolder rose-russet and steel-olive enhancing the peripheries.
Steve M. Tompkins Commentary: I purchased this coin due to the prominent shelf doubling found on the obverse that is reminiscent of that found on the half dollars of the era and which is often cataloged as a "doubled profile."
