Losbeschreibung: 1870 Pattern Dollar. Judd-1016, Pollock-1150. Rarity-7-. Copper. Reeded Edge. Proof-63 RB (PCGS). Longacre's seated Indian Princess design, apparently instituted by Barber, as Longacre passed away on January 1, 1869. Struck from the standard reverse die used for circulating silver dollars of the date.<br /> Pale rose-brown overall with a bold array of fiery rainbow iridescence, mostly varied sunset orange, violet, and crimson that comes to life in a bright light source. Just three examples of Judd-1016 have been graded by PCGS, see below. A nice opportunity to obtain a rare copper pattern issue.
