Lot Description

1876-CC Liberty Eagle. VF-30 (NGC). Rare in all grades, and apparently unknown in full Mint State as neither grading service reports any examples above AU-58. Pleasing orange-gold throughout, with smooth surfaces that show the usual light scuffs, nicks and shallow scratches from circulation. The first C of the mintmark tilts slightly left at the top while the second is located just below the tip of the branch. Paltry mintage of 4,696 pieces from which perhaps 125-150 are known today in all grades. Rarely found attractive and a wholesome example for the date or Carson City specialist.
