1772 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 5-72A, W-7710. Rarity-6. GEORGIVS III, Group I. Fine-15 (PCGS). 114.4 grains. Blended golden-brown and copper-gray patina provides strong visual appeal for this well balanced and overall boldly defined example. The surfaces are curiously glossy in texture with a few wispy handling marks concealed by waxing. All in all, a pleasing representative of a scarce variety in the Machin's Mills copper series.
